  2. Just started a Va’a Motu build. Going for the tacking proa.... already built a shunting “T2” a couple years ago, and disliked the shunting mess. The 20 ft long Va’a Motu will have some extra buoyancy ... and an easier hull to build with the sheet plywood.
Already built the cross arms, and have started the outrigger float.

    1. I am SO with you on "shunting mess". I too built 6.5m proa, Jojo. She was beautiful and sailed beautifully in flat waters, reaching 14 knots at times, but just wasn't a single hander. I've been looking at Tahitian Motu canoes, which I've been drawn to for a number of year. I'd be interested in hearing how your Va'a Motu handles, especially in choppy and windy conditions. At 66, I'm looking for a comfortable canoe to sail alone. Gary's Va'a Motu may just fill the bill. Check me out on https://www.facebook.com/groups/682682831826598/. Tom
