I was very pleased to receive these photos of Hannah Jenkins' Ulua project. It's a little different from standard in that the hull is shorter at 16' (4.8M) and is cold molded from two diagonal layers of ash veneer.

Hannah installed a sealed floor for extra flotation.
An elegant socket for the crossbeams was molded with ten layers of fiberglass cloth.
Hannah is now starting her own boatbuilding business in the UK and her Ulua "Olive" is for sale. You can contact Hannah at: hannahjenkins77 (at) gmail.com
And lovely akas going into those great connections!
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know how are the akas secured into the ama sockets?
