Desesparado in Panama

Chris Grill has sailed his stretched T2 all the way from Vera Cruz Mexico to Panama.  His blog from the beginning of the voyage could be a classic of seafaring literature.

  1. This makes him the likely proa and crabclaw rig expert west of Madagascar?

  2. I wondered about stretching the T2. Sounds like it was a success for Desperado. Couldn't find specifics on his blog. Do you know how long the T2 can be lengthened?

  3. He lengthened it from 5.4M to 6.5M, so about 44 inches. He also said he widened it but I don't know how much. It would be easiest to simply scale up all the hull offsets by 1.2. I know of one that was scaled by 1.5 but I don't have any contact info with them.

  4. Thanks. Your book explains how to streach the Ulua. Glad to hear you approving stretching this one too. How are the Te Wa plans progressing?

  5. I never drew complete plans for Te Wa. Other than the main hull lines, I made up the rest as I went along.
