The Secret life of Banka



Jim Brown, the trimaran designer, once estimated that there were three quarters of a million double outriggers in the Philippines.  This well made video shows how many of those would have been built.

Fantastic document. So well done and concise. I think of the value this will have in half a century or so.

Amazing insight into the capabilities of the builders and a great example of what can be done with simple tools and a lot of know-how. I think every "Western" boat builder should see this - and maybe get rid of any sandpaper finer than 60 grit!
